Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born in South London, England into a mixed family. Madekwe is English but her father is Nigerian. She was raised on a south London community estate, where she attended The Brit School at age fourteen. It was the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art was where she received a BA degree in acting. While at school she appeared in several stage productions, like the King Henry V's Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started her acting career through the movie Storm Damage. Since then she's made appearances as a guest in films like Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film appearance was Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), opposite Colin Farrell. In the following film, she was the lead in Elisha on an episode of the BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In her role, she also played Ollie for six episodes of Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. The year 2008 saw her had the opportunity to play the role of Bambi in the ITV2 show drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl, appearing in three and two series. Madekwe also appeared on the comedy How to Lose Friends and alienate others (2008). A couple of her credits on stage include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) as well as Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe was chosen to play Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama The Beautiful Life. The two-episode series aired for just two weeks on The CW and then it came to an end. Ashley Davenport appeared in ABC drama Revenge in February of 2011. Madekwe's exit from the series was officially announced in May of 2013. After two years as a main character, she made a guest performance in the very first episode of season three. The actress played Tituba on the television program Salem in 2014 until 2016. Madekwe got married to her long-time lover, Iddo. They both appeared on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. They have also appeared as a couple in Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with an extended family. Her parents were Roy and Patty and four older brothers -Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's family, which is all sportsmen, played baseball in summers and played hockey in winters. Ashley was never a walker, she did dance, so at age two and a half she started Baby Ballet -and she fell in love with. Ashley fell in love with dancing at the age of. When she was in High School, Ashley danced competitively in the highest divisions of tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, acrobatics, musical theatre, lyrical, and hip hop. The top soloist at major competitions such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance which were all given to Ashley.
