Julia Fiona Roberts, born October 28, 1967 in Atlanta in the United States to Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts is part of the fourth generation of Robertses to reside in the Atlanta area beginning in the family of her grand-father John Pendleton Roberts a farmer. Her father was enthusiastic about theatre since a young age. As in school at Emory University in 1952 he acted in productions on campus and in Atlanta. In 1953, he enlisted in the Air Force and while stationed at Biloxi in Mississippi, he appeared in a show that he performed in with Betty Lou Bredemus. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple was married in the year 1957. In 1957, the couple quit the military and Walter began his studies at Tulane University in New Orleans Louisiana. Walter was recruited to work for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to assist on the stage of Bum Bum and His Buddies in Decatur Georgia. Walter along with Betty Lou started production in 1964 on the children's local Saturday morning show on television called Bum Bum and His Buddies, which they funded themselves. Later that year they founded the Actors and Writers Workshop which operated for a period of six years. Lelisa Billingsley, also known as Lisa, was born in 1965. Julia Billingsley followed in 1967.
